JAMES WARD - WINNING FOR RYE

James Ward has been an integral part of the community since settling in Rye with his wife and two children in 2011. After serving as an active member of the Rye Sustainability Committee, he took over as Chair in 2021. Under his leadership, he has led community initiatives focused on collaborating with local and regional organizations, securing funding for the City of Rye, and raising awareness about the natural resources that define this town. His dedication to sustainability is matched by his enthusiasm for ice hockey, where he volunteers as a coach for the Rye Rangers, a program he has actively been involved with since 2012.

When he’s not serving his community, James is a financial professional who has over 26 years of experience focusing on valuing illiquid and other hard-to-value investments. Before entering the finance profession he was a research scientist. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry as well as an MBA with a concentration in finance. 

James is also a member of the American Yacht Club and enjoys sailing and being outdoors.
